Educational Programs
Since the mid 1970s, I have given countless educational programs to students of all ages, wildlife organizations, adult educational institutions, and nursing home residents. I have given programs at nearly all Des Moines area libraries, also. I have done evening family and community educational programs, as well as speaking at neighboring state Herpetological Societies.
In addition, I put on major educational displays usually associated with
The Iowa Herpetological Society.
My primary field of expertise has been lizards of the world, for the first 15 years. I have kept many species of aquatic turtles, tortoises, snakes, and amphibians, as well, native and exotic.
While my programs are always free, the cost of gas at this time limits the distance I can travel, and the number of programs I can give, this year. I will continue to do as many educational talks and display events, as I can afford.
The starting of my Sanctuary for Terrestrial Turtles and Tortoises will hinder me, as well, this year. Hopefully, things will settle down some time soon so I can get back to doing what I enjoy the most, sharing my knowledge of these fascinating creatures, and the important role they play
in nature.
I use live reptiles and amphibians, as well as visual aids (slides and digital images), and props.

Feel free to contact me and discuss your interest in having me speak to your group or organization. The best time to contact me by phone is after 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can try calling any time over the weekends.
Sincerely,
Allen E. Anderson
